The work of Amuleto Advisory, through its Managing Principal, Barry Cain, is well known and respected for its unique understanding of the interplay between business goals and family dynamics. We understand the delicate balance that must be built and maintained between the respective interests of both.  Our role is to dig deeply into the facts and circumstances on both sides of the equation through a thorough review of business plans, structures and key financial data. And, then to have open dialog with family members and key managers to examine the interplay with the business and the goals and aspiration of the family as a whole and individually. 

At the same time, we fully understand that one of the most difficult challenges facing a family owned business is who will succeed the current generation and how to preserve and enhance the business’ value by providing for a smooth transition of ownership and management. Whether that ultimate decision may seem to be years out or of a more immediate nature, planning for it must be an integral part of the current business plan. Successful transitions only occur with advance planning and detailed preparation.

We work with the business and the family to construct a strategic action plan which will guide the further growth and development of the business, its leadership and family business ownership, management and succession. The plan will help identify the areas where better processes, shareholder and family education, communication and alignment lead to enhanced business performance, greater inherent value and a stronger family with aligned goals. And, importantly, the plan must be actionable with the full support of all parties.
